Iowa’s corn harvest is 18 days behind the normal pace with 19 percent complete. Southeast Iowa is ahead of the state’s rate with 29 percent of corn harvested for grain and 97 percent mature. Across the state 96 percent of corn is mature, which is three days behind the five-year average.
Moisture content of corn at harvest was estimated at 21 percent. At this time, 24 percent of corn is in excellent condition, 53 percent is good and 18 percent is fair.
