The Lone Tree Lions football team (5-3 overall; 4-2 in district) will end the regular season this evening in front of their home fans.

The Lions welcome in the New London Tigers (2-6 overall;1-5 in district) for the team’s final district contest of the season.

Since opening up district play with a shutout loss on September 12, the Lions have won four of their last five contests, including last week’s 27-9 victory over the Danville Bears. The victory also secured Lone Tree a spot in the postseason for a fifth straight season. There will be no postseason play for the Tigers, who come into tonight’s contest on a current five game losing streak.

Lone Tree junior Jared Hudson is closing in on a personal milestone, the running back is just 39 rushing yards away from 1,000 for the season.
