The Highland Huskies were looking to return to winning form on Tuesday.Highland welcomed in Columbus Community for a Southeast Iowa Super Conference contest.
The match was competitive early, but Highland would prove to be too much as the Huskies won in straight sets (25-21, 25-18, 25-12). Senior Sam Dutton had a team high 10 kills, while senior Chelsey Lampe had 3 kills and a team leading 13 assists in the victory. Junior Lauren Mincks had four kills and seven digs, while senior Kelsey Pretz had three kills and seven digs for the Wildcats in the setback. The win improves Highland to 14-12 overall, while Columbus Community drops to 8-16 overall.
Both squads will be in action on Thursday evening. The Highland Huskies will travel to Mediapolis for a matchup with the Bullettes, while the Columbus Community Wildcats will host the Iowa Mennonite School.
