Each year there approximately 232,670 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed in women and 2,360 men will be diagnosed. According to the American Cancer Society, 430 men die from breast cancer annually and one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and as part of Washington High School’s homecoming week students will be wearing pink tomorrow in observance of the month. The school is inviting the community to join students and staff in the dress up day.

Also, it is recommended people conduct breast self-exams, have a routine check up with your doctor and schedule routine mammograms.
