The Mid Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team will face multiple tests on the court this week.

The Golden Hawks are scheduled to play two conference matches and will host the Hawk Tourney this weekend. Mid Prairie comes into the week 4-8 overall, and ended their seven match losing streak by beating Washington in straight sets last Thursday.

The Golden Hawks will start their busy week Tuesday evening as they welcome in the Durant-Bennett  to Wellman for a conference match. The Wildcats are 11-2 overall this season and are 4-0 in conference play. Then on Thursday, the Golden Hawks will travel to Tipton for a conference match up with the Tigers. Tipton comes into the week 9-5 overall, and are 3-1 in conference play. Head coach Cindy Miller says it should be a competitive week of volleyball.

“Durant and Tipton aren’t as tough as your rated teams but they are very close behind,” Miller said, “I don’t think there is anyone in our conference that isn’t tough. That’s just the nature of our conference but I do think we can play with them.”

Varsity match times are set for 7:30 both Tuesday and Thursday.
