The Mid-Prairie volleyball team hits the road to take on West Liberty tonight in their first River Valley conference match of the season.

The Golden Hawks have had a good start to the season, and look to extend it tonight, led by the attacking arm of Taylor Kurtz who leads her team with 34 kills on the season, while Emily Cayton is behind her with 24 kills. Ashlin Stumpf has missed just one serve in 50 tries and has seven aces.

Clarice Murphy and Stumpf have shared the setting duties, with 67 combine thus far, and Ashley Miller is the defensive leader with 36 digs.

West Liberty is 5-0 this season, winning the championship at the Grinnell tournament on Saturday, and sweeping every team. They are led by Haily Daufeldt with 28 kills, Cassedi Simon with 27 kills, and Audra Bridenstine with 21 kills. Simon also has 10 aces in just 36 serves, and is the leading setter with 78 assists. Defensively they are led by Molly Kelly with 40 digs.

Tonight’s game is at West Liberty with first serve at 7:30.
