The Washington Demons played their scrimmage Friday night against Eddyville-Blakesburg, and had some quality plays throughout the game.

Washington went 50/50 with run and pass plays, which is significantly different from last years run first, second, third, and last. The Demons started the scrimmage with a 34 yard touchdown pass from Daryn Seibelius to Jack Giardino.

Seibelius threw two more touchdown passes on the night, a 13 yarder to Jacob Hennigan, and another 25 yarder to Hennigan, but the running game is still the strongest point of the offense, with Seibelius consistently getting big yards on the keep, Bryce Rickey, Ethan Hanson and Hennigan using their second string work from last year in the first string spot this year, and defensive linemen Tama Leutele getting in on the running action, making a few guys miss, and busting a big 45 yard plus run.

Defensively the Demons looked good, not allowing the Rockets past mid-field, but Washington lost some key players this year that were mainstays from last year. Leading tackler Jeff Knupp, and veteran Brad Skubal are currently sidelined by injury and out of the linebacker spots, and on the first defensive play of the game, Gage Redlinger came out of the game due to an apparent head injury that will drop some speed on the corner and at receiver.

Head coach Garrison Carter said this is their week one, week two is Pella.

Washington play Pella on Friday at Case Field.
