The Mid Prairie High School Football team had their scrimmage on Friday night as they have one week until their opener. Around two hundred were in tap for the scrimmage even though it was one of the hottest days of the year. The offense has a lot of new faces one which is at quarterback. Junior quarterback Ryan Cortum took all of snaps for the first team offense and help lead a couple of nice drives. Cortum had a couple of good connections with senior tight end Jackson Yoder, one which that resulted in a touchdown.

Mid Prairie had a tandem of running backs carry the ball for them. Juniors Nolan Faselt and Karson Duwa took a boat load of carries as well as sophomore Ricardo Vargas, and Varga broke many tackles and made people miss on his carries. He also had an interception on defense playing outside linebacker. Coach Cavanagh says there are many things they can improve on before their season opener, but fundamental tackling is what he preaches and will look for from his team. Mid Prairie will start their season at home against Durant Friday, August 29th.
