A number of local 4-H members competed with their horses last week at the Iowa State Fair. Area Champions and Reserve Champions include: Mason Wiles of Wellman with Champion Miniature Horse Halter and Reserve Champion Miniature Horse Driving; Katlyn Kreutz of Wellman Reserve Champion Miniature Horse Halter; Georgia Nisly (nize-lee) of Kalona Reserve Champion Miniature Horse Showmanship; Maysan Lee of Wayland Champion Barrel Racing; Cheyanne Hunt of Wapello Champion Senior Horse Showmanship; and Stetson Spees of Fairfield Champion Halter Gelding.The 4-H Horse and Pony competition was judged last Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
