Another revised proposal dealing with a church owned park in Keota was considered by the city council recently. The proposal from the United Church of Faith would give the city ownership of four of the seven lots that make up the park and have the city pay the church’s legal expenses that have accrued throughout this process.

The city council has emailed the church board a counter proposal that would have the church and city pay their own legal expenses, specifically the cost of consultations with their respective lawyers. The council agreed with other aspects of church’s plan, including which lots they would take ownership of and financing the removal of the tennis courts from one of the lots the church will maintain.

The board is expected to consider the city’s proposal at a meeting later this month.
