The Demon softball team is on a big winning streak at the end of the season, and extended it last night.

Washington beat Williamsburg 7-2 last night, with Kolbi Breard going 2-4 with a double and two RBI’s, and Kayla Andrew hitting another home run. Ashley Rausch was in the circle, and fanned nine, giving up just one earned run of the two allowed.

Washington has a three game winning streak going into the final two regular season games tonight, which just happen to be against the team, and at the location of their first playoff game in Ft. Madison.

Washington is still led by the bat of Grace Redlinger with a .407 average and 19 RBI’s, but the bats have started to come around for the Demons. Stephanie Fishback and Rausch are the next two in line and the only others over .300, but Chayse Jaspering, Kayla Andrew and Kolbi Breard and have brought their averages over .250 in the last week.

Rausch is the main arm in the circle with an 11-9 record, 1.64 ERA and 146 strikeouts, while Amber Linnenkamp is the backup with a 2-10 record, 4.17 ERA and 23 strikeouts.

Ft. Madison has lost the last five in-a-row, and split with Washington all the way back on June 2nd. Kaylin Featheringill is the top bat with a .470 average, 32 RBI’s and two home runs, while Kayla Culbertson has a .387 average and 25 RBI’s.

In the circle is Chayse Lowney with a 9-5 record, 3.72 ERA, 41 strikeouts and opponents are hitting .263, while Jaycee Pumphrey can do some damage as well with a 4.51 ERA and 42 strikeouts.

Tonight’s double header is at Ft. Madison, with game one at 5:30.
