The Washington Demon baseball team is on a five game winning streak, and will travel to Oskaloosa tonight to try and extend it.

Walker Breard and Tanner Knupp are tied for the top average on the team with .397, but while Knupp leads the way with runs scored at 29, Breard is the one hitting him in with 25 RBI’s. On the mound, the Demons have switched things around a little, having Michael Gier and Zach Londberg start games for Washington and then bringing in the ace of Elijah Wood to end things. Londberg is 4-1 with a 2.72 ERA, Gier is 4-1 with a 1.65 ERA, and Wood is 3-1 with a .37 ERA and 59 strikeouts.

Oskaloosa has won three straight coming into tonight. They are led by Nick Rutledge with a .354 average and 10 RBI’s. Rutlidge is the only bat over .300 in the order.

On the mound, Rutlidge continues to lead the team with a 7-2 record, 2.26 ERA and 46 strikeouts.
