Flood warnings are in their fourth day for the KCII listening area. Yesterday afternoon Johnson County Emergency Managment Coordinator Dave Wilson and the Johnson County Board of Supervisors issued mandatory evacuations for the following areas:
– Izaak Walton Road SE
– Camino Del Rio SE
– Driftwood Lane SE
– Ocean Boulevard SE
– River Front Estates NE
-6979 and 6951 Tri County Bridge Road
– Lola Lane SE
– Sand Road South of 560th Street to Highway 22
– Winter Eagle Road SE
– River Bend Road SE
– Fountain Court SE

Electricity and natural gas has been turned off to these affected areas. United Way is assisting those in the evacuation areas.

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors is also recommending a voluntary evacuation for the following areas
– Swan Lake Road NW
– Oak Crest Hill Road
– Sand Road SE
– 520th Street
– River Junction
– Sioux Avenue SE
– 640th Street SE
– 660th Street SE
– Eden Farm Road SE

With homes being evacuated, the American Red Cross serving Greater Iowa is opening an emergency shelter at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Iowa City.Also, Governor Terry Branstad issued a disaster emergency for Johnson, Louisa, Iowa, Muscatine, Black Hawk and Jackson counties.
