The Highland softball team went to the Calamus Wheatland tournament this weekend and went 3-0, showing why they are ranked No. 1 in 1A.
In game one the Huskies played the host team, and won 10-2. Katie Springer fanned five in her first game win, while Cheyann Adamson with 3-4 with a homerun, Morgan Craig went 2-2 with a double, and Bailey Walsh and Jordan Rath both went 2-4 with doubles.
In game two, the Huskies had to hold on for a close call with Northeast Gooselake, but still got the win 10-7 off of three homeruns. Springer got the win, while Amy Schnuebelen came in for the save. At the plate Morgan Craig was 3-3 with a homer, Courtnee Hahn was 2-3 with a double and a homer, and Bailey Walsh was 2-3 with a homer.
Highland closed things out in game three in Huskie’s style, with Katie Springer getting her third win of the day, striking out five and giving up just two runs to Camanche. At the plate Craig went 2-3 with a double, and Bridget Murphy went 2-4 with a double.
Highland improved to 15-1 over the weekend and continues to sit in the number one spot in 1A.
