The Department of Natural Resources has formally announced it will not seek further action against Washington County regarding sewer systems in Richmond and Rubio. In a letter dated June 10th sent to the Washington County Board of Supervisors, attorney Jon Tack states “the DNR considers Washington County to have satisfied the terms of the Administrative Order and no further obligations remain,” closing the matter. The county is still working with individuals who have not yet been brought into compliance or their systems have not yet been verified for compliance. The DNR will assist with these cases at the county’s request.
