The Washington City Clerk and City Administrator received wage increases at yesterday’s city council meeting. The council voted against a 3% wage increase for City Clerk Illa Earnest. Councilman Bob Shepherd then proposed a 10% increase, he said in an effort to get her wages at similar levels to comparable cities. The 10% increase was approved unanimously, an approximate $4,700 increase to her salary. Also, City Administrator Brent Hinson received a 3% raise.
