A semi-truck struck a cow early yesterday morning on Highway 218. According to the Washington County Communications office, the caller reported hearing the crash and seeing smoke but no flames at approximately 1:30 a.m. The collision was at Highway 218 and 140th Street. The semi and trailer were towed from the accident scene. Riverside Fire Department, Riverside First Responders and Washington County Sheriff’s personnel responded to the scene. Over $1,500 in damages was estimated.
