The Winfield-Mt. Union girls track and field team hosted their first home meet last night, and here are the top results from the area schools in attendance.
For WMU, they got a win from Lou Krieger-Coen in the discus at 120’8.5”, and a runner up finish in the shot put with a throw of 34’. Karlie Wade grabbed a runner-up finish in the long jump with a leap of 15’9.25”, and Emily Mathews and Karlie Wade went one-two respectively in the 100 hurdles. Paige Breon was runner-up in the 200 meter dash in 28.54, and they were second in the 800 sprint medley in 2:07.64 and a team of Paige Breon, Hannah Mathews, Emily Mathews and Karlie Wade.
WACO was also in attendance, and got first place from Rosemary Skriver in the high jump at 4’4”, second in the 4×200 meter relay with Angelique Frier, Skriver, Jennie Greene and Katelyn White with a time of 1:57.46, and they won the 4×100 with a team of Frier, Skriver, Greene and White in a time of 54.72.
Finally, Columbus Junction was at the meet as well, and the Wildcats were champions in the 4×800 meter relay with a team of Kylie Marin, Bailey Stroud, Jessica Cruz and Taylor Hills in a time of 11:11.89, they won the shuttle hurdle relay with a team of Laura Mincks, Shania Boyd, Monaye Mathews and Kelsey Pretz in a time of 1:14.4, they won the 4×200 meter relay with a team of Boyd, Mathews, Cruz and Pretz in 1:55.62, and Kylie Marin was the 800 meter champion in 2:43.99.
