Proceeds from the West Chester First Responders’ breakfast held yesterday will go towards training and gear for two new members. Director of the First Responders, Vicky Fisher, says the initial training the volunteers need to take is required to become certified. Then like the rest of the eight member team, they’ll take 14 hours of continuing education classes and a CPR certification course every two years. She says the classes cover things they’ll likely run into, like medical emergencies and trauma. Some courses also go over new drug trends and the health problems they may cause.
