Iowa’s State Fire Marshal is reminding people that with warmer temperatures, strong winds and dry conditions lead to more brush and wild-land fires which can threaten lives and property. Washington County fire departments responded to 21 calls for grass fires in the area since Wednesday. The state fire marshal’s office recommends checking for county burn bans, never burn on dry and windy days, and never leave a fire unattended.
