Mid-Prairie performed well at this week’s Iowa Jazz Championships. The contest held in Des Moines had Mid-Prairie High School’s jazz band compete against 15 other class 2A schools. They placed 8th. This was Mid-Prairie’s fourth consecutive appearance at the Championships. They advanced to Tuesday’s competition after receiving second place at the Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association contest held in March.
