A group of physics students from Iowa Mennonite School were recently named the winners of the Physics Olympics regional competition held at Coe College. They’re now advancing to the State Competition at the University of Northern Iowa on April 17th. The Physics Olympics had the 11th and 12th graders building catapults, mousetrap powered cars and bridges made from toothpicks. Instructor Dick Yoder-Short says IMS has sent individuals to state before, but never an entire team.
