After pulling off a huge win over IMS on Tuesday, Lone Tree takes on the No. 1 team in the bracket in Danville tonight for the district championship.
The Lions are 15-7, and scoring 55.6 points per game, and are led by Trent Gosnell with 18.1 points per game, and showed in the IMS game why he is the leading scorer. He hits over 50 percent of his shots from the field, and 43.5 percent from three-point land. Jovonte Squires comes in to compliment Gosnell with 11.4 points per game of his own, and Nick Viner puts up 9.2 points per game.
Danville is 20-3 on the season, and scoring 75 points per game. Mason Speer is the top scorer for the Bears with 18 points per game, Connor Hoelzen adds 16.4 points per game, and Hunter Peebler comes in with 14.3. All three of the top scorers shoot 48 percent or better from the field, and hit 42 percent or better from three point range.
Danville beat Holy Trinity 66-50 in the semifinals to get here.
Tonight’s game is at Washington high school, with a 7 P.M. tip-off.
