The Washington Demon basketball teams host Tipton tonight for the Coaches vs. Cancer game.

Along with a couple of basketball games taking place, the Demons are looking to raise money for the Dance Marathon, and the Relay for Life team for Demon head girls basketball coach Phil Long who is battling cancer once again.

The Demon teams are both coming off losses, and will host Tipton tonight. For the girls, it will be to break up a three game losing streak. Tipton is just 4-15 this season, and scoring 28.5 points per game, and for the boys, Tipton is also 4-15, but scoring 53.3 points per game.

Both coaches know there is a game going on, but have said that tonight’s games will be more about the meaning of what is happening around the game, rather than what is going on, on the court.

There are activities, as well as fundraisers going on all day, so come out to the Washington High School gym for a good cause. The girls basketball game starts at 6:30 tonight, and you can hear all of the action on AM and FM KCII and KCIIradio.com under radio plus with pregame at 6, and tip-off at 6:30 with the boys to follow. The one to count on for today’s local sports coverage is AM and FM KCII and KCIIradio.com.
