Funding to the Early Childhood Area programs is being cut. Supervisor Stan Stoops reported to the Washington County Board of Supervisors this week that funding is being cut by more than a third.
Tasha Beghtol, Director of the Henry/Washington ECA clarified that since 2008 the group has seen a 36% cut and this year the budget is $452,461, down from 2008’s budget of $708,000. The Henry/Washington ECA is part of a statewide initiative that helps allocate state and federal funding for local programs for families with children five-years-old or younger.
