The Iowa Director of Public Health, Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks has resigned from her position. The resignation will be effective January 17th. Director of Washington County Public Health, Danielle Pettit-Majewski states Governor Terry Branstad appointed Gerd Clabaugh (guhrd claw-baw) as the interim director. She adds that it is not known at this time if the appointment will last through the rest of Branstad’s term or if a new director will be selected.
