The holiday sports break is still upon us, so here at the standings for the first half of the season for the Southeast Iowa Superconference North Division for the girls.

Mediapolis leads the way undefeated at 6-0, while right behind them in second place is Pekin and WMU tied at 5-1.

WMU head coach Mich Wachs said their success has come from just a great team bond, despite a lot of good teams being in the conference.

“We just have a really good group of kids, and I love coaching this group of kids, they are a lot of fun and I’m glad to see them have some success, I don’t think that we’re the most talented team by any means, but I think that we really play well together, I think that we have the desire to get out there and mix it up with people and we hope that most nights we score more points than the other team,” Wachs said.

In third place Highland and IMS are tied with Wapello all with 4-2 records.

In fourth place is WACO at 1-4 and Lone Tree at 1-5 and Columbus Junction and Louisa-Muscatine are at the bottom still winless on the conference season.

The season kicks back off for the superconference on January 3rd and 4th.
