Two buildings in Washington will be demolished. The Washington City Council approved the demolition of a property at 322 North Avenue D, where a methamphetamine lab was found in March.

The demolition of the house at 415 West Monroe, another structure contaminated with meth, was approved by the council at a previous council meeting.

The cost of the demolition will be assessed to the property owners. At Wednesday’s meeting, it was stated the to remediate the problem at 322 North Avenue D would cost approximately $45,000 while the demolition was approximately $15,000.
