The final volleyball rankings were released, and two area teams landed on the list.

Iowa Mennonite is ranked 14th with their record of 23-9, while Winfield- Mt. Union is ranked in ninth for their record of 23-10.

WMU head coach Dave Pieart said he is happy for the recognition by the state for the area teams.

“It is nice that the state is paying a little bit of attention to what we’re doing down here in the corner of Iowa,” Pieart said. “What is it, four teams from the Superconference are ranked in the 1A finals? We’re happy to be included in that mix.”

The other two Superconference teams are Holy Trinity Catholic and New London.

WMU and IMS play again tomorrow night to try and advance in the playoffs.
