Area cross country teams will try and qualify for state tonight at their regional and district cross country meets.

For the 1A schools there will be 29 teams including BCLUW, BGM, Cardinal, Colfax-Mingo, Durant, Harmony, Highland, Holy Trinity Catholic, IMS, Keota, Lone Tree, Lynnville-Sully, Maharishi, Montezuma, Moravia, North Mahaska, Pekin, Pleasantville, Scattergood Friends, Sigourney, Southeast Warren, Tri-County, Twin Cedars, Van Buren, WACO, Wapello, Wayne and Wilton.

Ranked teams for the boy’s includes No. 7 BCLUW, No. 14 Highland and No. 15 Wapello. For the girl’s there is No. 8 Lynnville Sully and No. 12 Durant.

Last year Highland was the lone team to go to state for 1A.

This meet will run tonight at 4 PM at Ottumwa.
