The replacement monument at Riverside’s Veteran’s Memorial Park will be covered by their insurance. Despite the initial reports that it wasn’t, city staff found that the $38,000  replacement stone is covered by the city’s General Umbrella Insurance policy. While installing the replacement earlier this year, workers determined the original monument had been struck by lightning.
