The KCII Severe Weather Action Team went into action last night at approximately 5:40 p.m. for a severe thunderstorm warning for Washington, Keokuk, Johnson, Iowa, Benton and Linn counties until 6:30 p.m. That warning was extended until 7:15 p.m. and added Louisa and Muscatine counties as well. In the past 24 hours, Washington has received 7-tenths of an inch of rain.

Some minor wind damage was reported in the area, including downed power lines near Stewart School in Washington, the Washington Country Club, in Richland on West Main and on Spring Street in Sigourney. The National Weather Service reported Washington authorities stating that Washington Country Club experienced roof damage and damage to vehicles, also a power line was reportedly down.

Pea-sized hail was reported in Riverside with minor wind damage causing downed tree branches.
