The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks host Central Lee tonight for their first week of the district season.

The Golden Hawks won their last game against Clear Creek-Amana 27-13 to move to 1-1 on the season.

Mid-Prairie has looked to their throwing game this year with Reid Miller going 23-47 with 335 yards, two interceptions and a touchdown, while Austin Slabaugh is the leading rusher with 163 yards and a touchdown, and Zachary Schwartz is the main target for Miller with 113 yards off seven catches.

Defensively Miller leads the team in tackles with 17, with Canaan Powell right behind with 15 and Schwartz with 12. In secondary it is Slabaugh with two picks and a touchdown this year.

Special teams wise it is Austin Errthum who is perfect going 2-2 in field goals with his longest from 30 yards.

Central Lee is 1-1, beating Highland last week 43-6. Their quarterback Garrett Holtkamp is 7-13 with 137 yards and one touchdown. The running game is their bread and butter with four players over 100 yards of rushing, led by Ethan Barnett with 155 yards and a touchdown.

On defense Barnett leads the team with 18 tackles, while Jacob Boeck has 17 and Gabe Halstead has 16, and in the secondary Ben Rooney has the team’s only interception. On special teams kicker Tyler Bryant is 5-7 in PAT’s and 1-1 in field goals from 27 yards.
