There has yet to be action taken on the Farm Bill in Washington D.C. since congress has reconvened from their August break. Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley states that the controversy in the bill regards food stamp portion. He believes that a bill could come from conference committee and to the president relatively quickly.

The changes to the farm bill would include ending direct payments and in his version of the bill includes payment limitations.

The current extension of the Farm Bill expires September 30th.
