Adults providing an opportunity for or hosting an underage drinking party in Jefferson County can now face a civil penalty. County Supervisor Lee Dimmitt says they’ve passed a Social Host Ordinance. If its determined you have hosted a party allowing underage consumption of alcohol you’ll face a $750 fine, and $1,000 fine for each subsequent offense. He adds it does not hold a homeowner liable for parties held without their knowledge. The new law goes into effect in mid-November.
