Kalona is taking steps to begin a large project expected to cost over $1 million. The City Council has directed their engineer to apply for a State Revolving Fund loan and to get the necessary permits from the Department of Natural Resources. If the city goes through with the sewer lining and replacement of a water main, a bid letting would take place this fall.
