The Washington County Riverboat Foundation awarded 31 grants for a total of approximately $3.4 million last Wednesday. Of those grants, two were awarded to the City of Washington. A grant of $27,000 was given for tennis court improvements and a cemetery restoration project was awarded $15,000.
Also, the largest grant ever presented by the foundation is going towards a project in the City of Washington in the form of a new Washington High School Auditorium. The Washington Betterment Committee was awarded $2.5 million to help fund the project.
