The IMS soccer team opened up their season last night with a 2-1 loss to Solon.
IMS held Solon scoreless until 11:53 left in the first, when an easy poke into the goal gave the Spartans the lead.
Solon came out in the second half and put another one past, this one a harder shot to make the score 2-0.
IMS didn’t give up though, as Dillon Bender drove to the box and was tripped and rewarded with a direct shot, which he put past the goalie.
IMS tried to even up the score, but just couldn’t find the back of the net and lost the first one 2-1.
IMS will play again on Thursday against Wapello.
