The old library building, now used for Washington City Council meetings, will be evaluated by an engineering firm. At last week’s meeting, the Washington City Council approved the study. For $24,000, Klinger and Associates will conduct the study and submit their findings to the city. City Administrator Brent Hinson said at the meeting that this would help the council make a decision about what to do with the building in the future. Converting it into a new city hall is one possibility.

The study will be funded by the Quarterly Riverboat Fund. The motion to go forward with the plan was passed 4 to 2. There was some resistance due to the fact there was no bid letting for the study.
