Funding for different construction projects was discussed during this week’s meeting of the Washington County Board of Supervisors. Funding for one project approved was a bid change for the work at HACAP/Orchard Hill Building 1. Supervisor Wes Rich informed the Board that some of the floor will need to be removed so some pipe can be replaced. The cost of almost $5300 for this work will be paid through contingency funds.
Also approved was a federal aid agreement with the Department of Transportation to replace a bridge on Redwood Avenue just north of Noble.
County Engineer Jacob Thorius also requested they need to spend over $42,000 to upgrade 54 radios to comply with the narrow bandwidth requirement from the FCC. The radios will be purchased from Electronic Engineering in Mt. Pleasant.
