As a preemptive measure an area school district is offering free flu shots for its staff for a third year. According to Columbus School District Superintendent, Dr. Marlene Johnson, their schools are offering free flu shots today.

Nurse at Columbus Schools, Barb Chaney, says that after H1N1 caused a lot of staff sickness, former Superintendent Rich Bridenstine approached the school board to cover flu shots as a way to curb substitute teacher costs.

Chaney says that this includes all staff including bus drivers, cooks, janitorial, and maid cleaning staff. The shots are administered by Louisa County Public Health.
