Three Washington County youth were recently honored with scholarships for their college educations.  [simage=3824,320,n,center]

Sarah Altenhofen, daughter of Rob and Julie Altenhofen was involved in 4-H, Future Farmers of America (FFA), Student council and dance in high school.

Austin Knupp, son of Zeus and Jackie Knupp from Washington was awarded for his involvement in 4-H, FFA, football, wrestling, track and baseball.  He is also attending Iowa State and is majoring in agriculture business administration.

Shawna Sieren, daughter of Scott and Renee Sieren from Keota was involved in 4-H, volleyball, basketball, track, softball, band, choir, speech, drama, student council, National Honor Society and Rock ’n’ Prevention.  Sieren is attending the University of Northern Iowa majoring in athletic training.

Amy Green, Washington County 4-H/Youth Coordinator says Washington County was fortunate to have these three involved in 4-H for the past nine years as well as their membership on the 4-H County Council.  She says everyone is looking forward to watching their skills be used in college.
