The WACO volleyball team is looking to make a move in the Southeast Iowa Superconference this year.

WACO finished in last place in the conference with a 1-8 record, and lost six seniors from that team.

Head coach Tom Ferguson says his girls played a lot of club ball during the spring to help them with their game this year.

WACO starts things off quick with their home tournament this weekend.

Ferguson says that the conference is geared for anyone to be tough, and that WACO will have to play their best every match.

“Any given team is a fairly strong team, so we have to be playing our best all season long,” Ferguson said. “I don’t really see that there is one area of the schedule that is more difficult than another, we have to be willing to play at the top of our game, night in and night out.”

The Warriors will host their tournament starting on Saturday.
