The WACO boys  had an event qualify for the state meet. Christian Roth ran away with the 400 meter low hurdle district title and automatically qualified. Roth also ran in the 110 high hurdles and got second. Head coach Shannon Rugg had this to say about Roth.

“I think [Roth] has got a good shot at medaling at state, and I think he’s going to get in in the highs,” Roth said. “He didn’t run a real clean race, but he got beat by another exceptional athlete.”

WACO also finished in second in the 4×100 meter relay and the 4×110 shuttle hurdle relay giving them a good shot at getting in on the times.

Pekin won the meet with 189 points and WACO was in second with 75.

The full list for the 1A state meet will be out later this afternoon.
