The Washington School Board held a special meeting yesterday to approve electrical work. The work will be electrical service replacement in the 1918 building. This bid award is a re-bid from earlier in the year. Out of the four bids submitted, the winning bid went to Dave Bessine Electric based in Burlington for over $136,000.
The estimated cost of the project was $125,000. Bessine was also awarded work for other projects in the building totaling over $39,000.
The additional projects are being funded as part of the contingency plan in the budget. Also during the meeting a bid was awarded to Reliable Network Solutions of Muscatine to expand the wireless network in the new high school. The cost for the expansion is over $73,000. Reliable Network Solutions was one of only two bidders for that project.
