February’s unemployment figures have been released by the Iowa Workforce Development and Washington County’s rate stays the same from last month. The rate in the County is at 5.8%. Washington County has a little 11,000 people in the workforce. Across all of southeast Iowa, unemployment rates dropped two-thirds of a percent.
The highest decrease was in both Henry and Johnson Counties with Iowa and Keokuk Counties increasing one-tenth of a percent.
Iowa’s unemployment dropped to five point three percent, and is three percent lower than the national figure of eight point three percent.
