A hopeful presidential nominee made a stop in southeast Iowa yesterday.  Republican and former House Speaker Newt Gingerich and his wife Callista visited with shoppers at the Hy-Vee in Mt. Pleasant yesterday morning.

He has served as a Representative from Georgia from 1979 to 1999 and Speaker of the House from 1995 to 1999.

After Mt. Pleasant, he traveled to Ottumwa, Oskaloosa and Knoxville where he met with other Iowans.
