The recount of ballots from Riverside’s election took place yesterday afternoon in the Washington County Courthouse.  The recount was requested by Tom Sexton who was running for a position on the City Council.  He requested this recount because of the close results in the November 8th election.

The ballots were counted individually by an independent three-member board.  They counted the same number of votes as cast during the election.

The three winners for City Council will be Christine Kirkwood with 194 votes, Robert J. Schneider, Jr. who received 177 votes and Nate Kasdorf who won with 161 votes.  Sexton received 160 votes during the election.
