At the state volleyball tournament in Cedar Rapids, the 3A and 4A got underway and today a Super Conference school will be in action. In Class 3A, Maquoketa, the team that eliminated the Demons in the regional semifinal round, fell to Waverly-Shell Rock in three yesterday. Waverly-Shell Rock now plays Union who beat Solon in five. Solon had beaten Farifield in Demon Gym for the right to get to state.
Sioux City Heelen and Dubuque Wahlert were also winners and they will face each other in the semifinals.
Today in 2A, Cedar Valley Conference school West Liberty will play Dike-New Hartford.
Also in 1A, Super Conference school Holy Trinity, who came out of the region the area 1A schools were in, will face Janesville.
