Those wishing to have their vegetables pest free can receive help from the Washington County and ISU Extension. Nancy Adrian with the Washington County Extension says horticulture specialists are on hand to answer questions related to getting rid of summer pests during the summer. This hotline can provide information controlling bugs and other insects that can damage plants.
The horticulture hotline which offers help has answered over 200 thousand phone calls since it was first established in 1983. The hotline is available from 10:00 to noon and 1:00 to 4:30 Monday through Fridays.
